View all the circles of Hell in new Dante’s Inferno trailer

EA released a brand newDante’s Infernotrailer today which shows off all the circles of Hell you’ll be visiting throughout the game. It’s an interesting trailer, only for the fact that you don’t really get an idea on what the other circles of Hell are like. They do a great job showing off Gluttony as one of those fat b*tches (that will vomit and shit attack at you by the way) is munching down on some poor soul....

Violence in games doesn’t translate to real violence

I am a murderer. I have killed countless thousands. I’ve randomly beaten a woman on a public street with a golf club while citizens watched. I killed her with it, and then proceeded to stomp on her corpse. I did it so I could get money. No one called the cops. If they had called, it wouldn’t matter. I would have just killed them as well. Yesterday, I killed a man with a rifle....

Wanted: Have you see this Mii?

It’s the kind of thing that could only happen in Japan. A Kanagawa man is currently wanted on suspicion of a hit and run and posters featuring his likeness have been issued by police. However, rather than your typical artist’s rendition of the villain, he hasinstead been representedby one of Nintendo’s Mii characters. Quite why police are using a Mii instead of the typical drawing, I don’t know. However, the only plausible explanation is that the suspect was, indeed, a real-life Mii....

What!?: My reaction to part two of the BioShock pitch

I don’t know that we ever posted the first half of Irrational Games’ pitch forBioShock, so if you have yet to read it,do so now. It’s really quite cool. Otherwise, what I’m about to link out won’t make much sense. The second half is now upfor your viewing pleasure, and I must say, it tells the tale of a radically different game than theBioShockwe played. From weird temperature elements, to a vastly changed opening scene, to the inclusion of multiplayer from the get-go — crazy, all of it!...

What’s this? Ukelele Hero?

Look at this cute little guitar – isn’t it darling? No? This mini peripheral (or full-sized, if you’re a midget or toddler) is a new, upcoming product called the XFPS Mini Guitar. ThisTeam Xtenderproduct is half the size of standard game guitars, and is supposed to be easy to tote and use. What’s really cool is that it is made ofactual woodfor the ultimate in realism and ‘authenticity’, although it’s small size seems to defeat all of that effort – nevermind the glowing lights....

Woman tries to kidnap online ex-boyfriend from Second Life

A woman wanted for the attempted kidnap of her ex-Second Lifeboyfriend has been caught after a search that spread across several states. 33-year-old Kimberly Jernigan had an online affair with a 52-year-old man viaSecond Life, and when he ended the relationship, she became quite distressed … as well as demented, ifthis storyis anything to go by. The relationship ended after the pair had met in real life (likely meaning she didn’t resemble herSecond Lifeavatar enough), and in the beginning of August, Kimberly allegedly drove to her ex-boyfriend’s Pennsylvania workplace and attempted to kidnap the man at gunpoint....

Wooden box, small liquor: How we got a Bullestorm trailer

Determined to get me in trouble with my wife for having so much crap lying around the house, Electronic Arts, People Can Fly, and Epic Games sent me a promotionalBullestormbox in the mail again today. In the video above, you can see the full unboxing and contents: it’s a box of weeds and leaves, along with a tiny briefcase and a magnifying glass. Inside the tiny briefcase (which I had to pry open with a butter knife) were small, prop bottles of alcohol, along with a salt shaker, a shot glass, a lime, and a barf bag....

XSEED brings Drill Sergeant Mindstrong! to WiiWare

I normally don’t really care for minigames (Rhythm TengokuandWario Warebeing two of the only exceptions), but it sounds like XSEED could be bringing something really interesting with their first title for WiiWare. Here is the listing for the game from the ESRB: This is a collection of mini-games (i.e., party games) in which players train and compete in math, rhythm, and reflex/timing drills guided by a trainer named Sergeant Mindstrong. Mini-games include shooting numbered targets according to the sergeant’s instructions; performing timed salutes and “at ease” cues; and marching in time while holding realistic-looking rifles....

Yes, this, please: EA registers new SSX-related domains

Things I’ve been needing for awhile: new socks, a haircut, and a brand new SSX game. Electronic Arts has been quiet on the extreme snowboarding front sinceSSX Bluron the Wii, but there may be another one on the horizon, this one calledSSX: Deadly Descentor evenSSX: First Descent. The publisher recently registered domains related to“SSX First Descent”and“SSX Deadly Descent”which were both uncovered bysuperannuation. Being just domain names, there’s not much to go on outside of speculation, hopes, and dreams....

‘Like’ Diablo III on Facebook for new art and screenshots

When Blizzard isn’t takingits sweet timedevelopingDiablo IIIand other assorted, much-loved games, it’s garnering Facebook attention by offering up new screenshots and art. For every 25,000 “Likes” theDiablo IIIpagegets — starting at 550,000 and continuing to 1 million — the studio will put out new eye candy for us to gaze upon. Brilliant idea. Considering we have months and months to accomplish this, I’m not worried. Maybe for every 1,000 “Likes” we get on the DestructoidFacebook page, we can have a staff member go against the norm....

1UP bought by Dell?

No, I’m not kidding. A few days back we reported Ziff Davis wasselling 1UP and EGM. Well, itlookslike the site’s already been bought and is now within the unforgiving claws of Dell. Notice the new logo in the top left corner of thesite. Apparently, going tohttp://www.1up.comdoesn’t display the logo. However, going tohttp://dell.1up.comdoes. On the right hand side of the page is a “casual gaming” bar with “Dell gaming console 2.0” listed as the first item....
