Forget all of the other patch nonsense — Neversoft and Activision/Red Octane have issued a free update forGuitar Hero III, which should now be available on Xbox 360 (Worldwide) and the Playstation 3 in North America. While it would have been hilarious if the update include support for theRock BandFender Stratocaster peripherals, that’s sadly not the case. The updates and changes are as follows: Improve Online Quick Match results and reduce “Failed to Connect to Server” messages....

She seems really desperate for it, judging by how she goes on and on about the importance of evoking an emotional response in her role as Seraphine in the upcomingHunted: The Demon’s Forge. This behind-the-scenes video features interview footage with her and Matt Findley of developer inXile as they talk a bit about the plot and mechanics of the game and how Lawless’ character fits into it. I played a bit ofHuntedat PAX Prime last year and wasn’t overwhelmed, but Jim has beenhot for the titlefor quite some time now....

I’m not sure whyMerchants of Brooklynhasn’t been mentioned around here yet, because the premise behind it is seriously twisted. It takes place in the future where, essentially, pollution is so bad that society is forced to live in massive skyscrapers high above the toxic ground. But wait, it gets weirder. The rich folk who populate this futuristic New York decide to clone a bunch of neanderthals to both work as laborers and fight to the death as a means of entertainment....

I’ll never forget the way Christmas inevitably worked when I was growing up: my mom would ask me to tell her what I wanted, I would make her a list, and somehow I’d open my presents under the tree and they would not be what I asked for. “But I thought you might like this better!” my mom would say merrily, and I’d take a deep breath and drag her to the store the next day to return it and get the game I had actually asked for....

The very first Microsoft store opened today in Scottsdale, Arizona. “Halo Legends”won’t be distributed in the traditional fashion initially. According to the official release, Microsoft’s Halo anime will be delivered to fans through an interesting (and upcoming) portal on Xbox LIVE called “Halo Waypoint.” Neat-o. Think of Halo Waypoint as Master Chief’s personal digital distribution service. In addition to bringing the anime to fans over Xbox LIVE, Halo Waypoint will also “inform fans of the latestHalonews and activities” and grant access to all sorts of Halo media like podcasts, trailers, images, and “exclusive video footage....

Dead Space: Extractionlands in the states this Tuesday and is already out in Europe.
