I flipped out on the plane a few hours ago. Being detained at the airport was a shock, but being blocked from playingPokemon Whiteon the flight home almost broke me. Thank God I’m home now, and can get started on the game using my old DS Lite. I thought it was just me at first, butSiliconera has confirmed it;Pokemon Black/Whiteis the first region locked DSi game. That’s sad stuff. All this does is make the DSi even less attractive to Western consumers, and give people more motive to just pirate the game instead of importing it legitimately....

StarCraft‘s story really stuck in my head, to the point where I still clearly remember it though I have not touched the game in longer than I can remember. Rhythm Heaven Wiiis about to be released in Japan, and marketing for the title is starting to pick up. We’ve already gotten a look at some of the game’s50+ levels, multi-player mode, and a endless games, but these TV spots show us a few more levels in greater detail. The “taking pictures of sweaty luchadors” level seems to be a big hit with the kids, and it looks like that vaguely androgynous middle aged woman really loves making those seals wiggle....

Woh. I hate MMOs and I still have to say that. Ever since thelaunch trailerforGuild Wars 2hit it has been evident that this game was going to be gorgeous, but this looks amazing. In all honesty I have no idea whatGuild Warsis about so I’ll leave the in depth commentary to those who know more, but I think I won’t get to many arguments with my summation of “woh.” I’m pretty sure that they hit every fantasy cliche known to man in that trailer, but they’re hitting the cliches in a unique way at least....

Some new screenshots forLittleBigPlaneton the PlayStation Vita have squirted out of Gamescom, and they’re looking quite pretty indeed. Really reminds me of the time when I thought the Game Boy’s collection of black blocks on a green background were impressive. To think we’ve got games likethisnow. Handheld gaming has indeed come a long way, even if some developers think it’s almost dead. Dead or not,LittleBigPlanetlooks undebiably gorgeous, so I certainly hope we get a few more years from dedicated gaming handhelds yet....
