The ultimate dream fighting game!

Marvel vs. Capcom 3is officially out today. Andwe love it. So much, in fact, that we here at Destructoid are already fantasizing about what other characters could be featured in a (hopefully inevitable) sequel or some (hopefully consistent) DLC. But this being Destructoid, we didn’t want to limit ourselves to fantasizing about just Marvel or Capcom characters. We wanted to imagine a fighting game that could staranycharacter fromanyvideogame. Basically, the most incredible fighting game ever created....

This is Mega’s final design for Mega Man Legends 3

With all the E3 hullabaloo last week, I totally missed that theMega Man Legends 3devs had settled on a final design for our boy in blue! It’s good to know that even though the game’s future is still a mystery (What? No playablePrototype Versionon the show floor?), development is still barreling along. Reminds me of howMega Man 2was but a pet project following the lukewarm response to the original, barely allowed by the Capcom heads....

Ubisoft says its DRM is a ‘success’ (so suck it)

Ubisoft’s “always online” DRM for PC games has bred a considerable amount of ill will from consumers, and has gained plenty of negative publicity due to its heavy-handed implementation. However, piracy is apparently down, so Ubisoft’s pleased. An Ubisoft representative told PC Gamer that the company saw “a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success....

Watching the Watchmen watch over the world

Sorry, I can’t help myself when it comes to alliteration. Anyways, here’s a quick trailer for theWatchmen: The End is Nighgame, showing off a bit of action and attacking for your nitpicking pleasure. You can argue over how the game is going to be story-wise and whether you can even put the characters in this type of situation, but I’ll gladly accept them attempting to tell theWatchmenstory in a medium like this....

Weekend Destructainment: The Brothers Mario

TakeGrand Theft Auto IV,create Mario-like characters and give it a gritty Mafia story and you have The Brothers Mario. An awesome mod that I want to actually play. Then it’s some funny fails fromHalo: Reach. Next, it’s aWorld of Warcraft Cataclysmsong....

Your body isn’t ready for this Dark Souls trailer

Dark Soulsis one of the rare games we cover that continuously garners positive responses in the comments, and lots of ’em. If there’s a post aboutDark Souls, no matter how seemingly insignificant, you can be sure bodily references aren’t far off. I love this new trailer. You just know it’s about to get real when that music starts up, and indeed, unpleasantness ensues. Perhaps I am easily impressed when it comes to these things, but the sense of scale that many videogames this console generation have been pushing never ceases to “wow” me....

An end to Madden monopoly madness? EA asks federal court to dismiss lawsuit

Back in June, we told you about two gamers whofiled a class-action lawsuitagainst EA, alleging that the corporation’sexclusivity agreementwith the National Football League was a monopoly. Their main argument centered around the issue of price: EA was charging the then-standard price of $49.99 forMadden NFL 2005until Take-Two releasedESPN NFL 2K5, which was set at the bargain-of-a-lifetime price of $19.99. EA later lowered the price ofMadden 2005, but once the NFL offered up exclusive videogame rights, EA made sure they were the highest bidder, permanently taking Take-Two out of the football picture....
