It’s finally here — the game you’ve all been waiting for. TheNamcoarcade title,New Rally Xhas finally made its way to theXboxLive Arcade at 400 points. This sequel toRally Xfeatures improved graphics and easier, tweaked game play. But not even that can saveRally X, because this game is the pits. The game runs off of the originalPac-Manhardware, and is essentiallyPac-Car with flags instead of pellets, and red car sprites instead of ghosts....

All in all, another mediocre week in game releases. Next week will be big thanks to the new Pokemon games for theDS. Until then, you may participate in this hugePokemon discussion in the forums. It’s not because I fear that a poor demo will sour my expectations for an anticipated title, but because I always get antsy staring at the button configuration screen that appears during the initial load-up....

Industry analyst Michael “pulsing veins” Pachter has slammed Gamers’ Voice, the organization that filed a formal complain on behalf of PS3 and PC players who felt they got a raw deal with a buggy, broken, inferior version ofCall of Duty: Black Ops. ”All games are buggy, some more so than others. Have you triedFallout: New Vegas? Buggiest game ever,” retorts the hard-nippled stud. “I suppose this helps to explain why the game sold only 20 million copies instead of 25 million, and why it received only a 90 metacritic rating instead of 95 (sarcasm intended, in case you didn’t pick up on it)....

Youknow, I like’s me some deep-thoughts ’bout myPersona, but there are times in life when it’s okay to be about as deep as a kiddie pool. This is one of those times. The men — more specifically themainmen — ofPersonaare not just wildcards, but pimps of the highest order. No others have been able to capture so many of the most well-developed (and well-developed) female characters in the JRPG space. They stand tall above the pitifully mild-mannered milquetoasts and amnesiac angst-factories of lesser RPGs, harem anime, anderoge....

Great news for Steam users who are fans ofPlants vs. Zombies. PopCap and Valve announced the release ofPlants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Editionfor Steam. It’s just like the regular PC version which released a couple of weeks ago, with the zombie avatar creator and achievements. Except the Steam release offers support for the Steam Cloud to access your save game from anywhere. Oh, and Steam Play for cross compatibility on Mac....

As you should all be aware by now, last monthyielded a new firmware updatefor PlayStation 3 owners. The reason for the update was fairly miniscule, as it was only intended to “improve the playback quality of some PlayStation 3 and PlayStation format software.” Little did we all know about the havoc that it would inflict on every single PS3 that touched the update. In my haste to downloadPixelJunk Eden, I accidently downloaded the firmware....

Sony has confirmed that it will reveal the final launch date of the PlayStation Vita at the Tokyo Game Show. Asrevealed yesterday, the company will not be releasing the system to North America or Europe before Christmas as originally hoped. It’s currently expected that Japan will get the system before 2011 ends, while we’ll have to wait a few months at least. Sony boss Kaz Hirai has said that this is to ensure a strong launch library which, if true, is a very respectable reason....

The LucasArts brand of adventure games were always my favorites growing up. Among the very best the company had to offer in the heyday of the genre wasMonkey Island. The series created a world where pirates existed simply for the sake of being pirates and Guybrush Threepwood’s innocent charm and bumbling bravado made him one of the most memorable characters in all of adventure games. After the mediocreEscape from Monkey Island, LucasArts appeared to have signed the death warrant for the series....

Utilizing the game’s cameras, you’ll be able to take a picture of your face (or your cat’s face, as I intend to) which will then be mapped onto an in-game fighter. Next, you’ll be able to customize your combatant by choosing a fighting style....

With the Democratic National Convention gearing up today, we’re about to really launch into the presidential election season here in the US. In an effort to reach out to the 18-30 year old demographic, notorious for low registration rate, Rock the Vote has teamed up with Microsoft to bring the election into homes via Xbox Live. Users of the service will be able to register to vote, participate in polling and sound off to the candidates....
