ESRB denies charging too much for PSP Mini ratings

The long and winding saga of high PSP Minis prices continues. When we last left off, the ESRB was identified as the reason PSP Mini downloads costing twice as much as their iPhone counterparts, with accusations that ratings cost too much. The ESRB hasnow hit back, claiming that cheap games do not have to spend so much cash to get their game approved. “The ESRB has a reduced fee of $800 for games that have development costs under $250,000,” explains ESRB spokesman Eliot Mizrachi, “which would likely apply to virtually all PSP Minis....

Ever wonder how much videogame castles are worth? Uh, seriously? Why?

Confession time: I watch entirely too many house flipping and home buying TV shows. Some of you might argue that watching anything more than an accidental 10 seconds from channel surfing is probably entirely too much, and I can see where you’re coming from. But for whatever reason, these stupid shows are great stress relievers (the life of a blogger ain’t always easy, yo). Except for thatSuzanne Whang. Seriously, f*ck her....

First attack! New Tatsunoko vs. Capcom vids, feat. Morrigan

Besides Arc System’sGuilty Gear XX Accent Core(which is already two years old) and a spate ofNaruto-licensed games, the 2D fighter Renaissance seems to have curiously skipped over the Wii. The exception to the rule, of course, is Capcom’sTatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. As the company moves to corner Wii owner’s need for fighters (and no one else’s), it’s trying it’s best to keep a steady drip of info coming out for the title....

First look at Army of Two

This video is interesting to say the least. The voice acting makes me thinkArmy of Twois supposed to be a comedy, while the eye candy makes me hope that this is real-time game footage. What’s more interesting is the fact thatAoTis the baby of Alain Tascan. Remember him? He’sthat guyfrom EA Montreal that saysGears of Warhas no innovation. IfArmy of Twocan somehow survive the backlash Tascan has created for himself by talking smack aboutGears, then more power to the man....

Game SERIES Debate to the Death! T. Metal VS G. Turismo

Last week‘s debate will hopefully be a wake up call to those responsible for theMortal Kombatseries’ future. The numbers from our microcosm debate poll may show that a small group of people are happy with the series overall, but the comments suggest otherwise. I’m not surprised at all by the outcome, but it still needed to be done to shine a spotlight on a series that continues to fall more and more behind its competition in popularity and replayability....

GDC 09: Hands-on with Punch-Out!! Wii

I lovePunch-Out!!. You lovePunch-Out!!. Everybody lovesPunch-Out!!. There’s no real surprise there. And since everyone lovesPunch-Out!!just as I do, I’m going to go ahead and presumptuously assume that whatever emotions I experienced upon hearing of a newPunch-Out!!for the Wii were pretty much the exact same emotions you felt as well. Namely: adoration of the graphics, but intensely cynical worry about crappy motion controls and a toned-down difficulty level for the casual Wii audience....
