Founder Electronics sues Blizzard for copyright infringement

China, the bountiful land that brought us such joys as Chairman Mao,Journey to the West, and wanton wontons, is a strange place. Whilepiracy, copyright infringing, and black market trading runs rampant in Shanghai, Founder Electronics is getting their knickers in a twist over a bunch of squiggles that don’t really mean anything. Founder is suing Blizzard for copyright infringement of its fonts, and the People’s High Council (intimidating, innit?) have accepted the case....

Free App of the Day: Death Rally

Death Rally(iPhone & iPad) is free today. Remedy is saying it’s a short promotional campaign, so you better get on it right now! Go grab ithere. I paid $5 for it at the time and it didn’t disappoint, even though it was expensive as hell for a mobile game and it dropped in price a week later. Beside being an all around great game, it’s also not very large (82.8MB) compared to other big name iOS titles....

From Software jumps on teaser site bandwagon

Iwouldadmonish developers for creating really annoying and vapid teaser Web sites that contain nothing of interest, butwe bloggerspost about them like the predictable little bumblebees that we are, so I guess From Software’s ploy has worked. Yes, the developer of the critically acclaimedNinja Bladehas a teaser upfor a new project. It has no reason to exist, but it’s there. As you can see from our header image, the site shows a door blocked off by a rope, with a sign that reads: “2025-08-02 OPEN....

Games given more attention in updated Grammy categories

Christopher Tinwinning a Grammyfor “Baba Yetu”? There’s more where that came from. As reported by IndustryGamers, The Recording Academy has tweaked four Grammy Award categories to better reflect videogames as a legitimate medium. The Music for Visual Media, Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, and Best Song Written for Visual Media now have “video game music” descriptors, right alongside “motion” and “television.” VP of Awards Bill Freimuth thinks this move “could be viewed as a first step in the direction of video games getting their own category....

A couple of days ago, we got the word thata newKirbygame is coming to the Wii. In typical Nintendo style, this announcement was made with little fanfare, with nothing but a few details and a tiny, thirty second video to mark its coming arrival. Last year, they announcedthe nextRhythm Heavengamein almost the exact same way. Hands-on with the PlayStation 3 Slim

It’s a good thing we didn’t travel all the way to Germany just to watch somebody hold a PlayStation 3 Slim up on stage from a hundred feet away. In more ways than one, it wasn’t exactly what we expected....

Hands-on: Child of Eden with Kinect controls

Kinect is kind of a big deal. Since the motion controller (or as some call it, “the un-controller”) was first announced at E3 09, the hands-free controller has built up quite a reputation. Some have said that Kinect isn’t really even a videogame control device and is in fact a supernatural force created by magic. Microsoft seems to have gotten wind of Kinect’s ability to inspire awe in those that are yet to experience it, hence their clown-packed, Tron-elephant-laden Kinect showcase at last summer’s E3....
