So GameStop has started pre-orders for the“Annihilation” map packforCall of Duty: Black Ops. There’s no incentive to pre-order, Activision will never run out of download codes for any downloadable content and you’re able to easily download the pack straight from the comfort of your own home once it’s released. So, yeah. This. This is a thing. Really, the only benefit here is that you’re able to trade in some old crap towards the purchase of the new DLC, I guess....
Announced during Tecmo’s recent “Nite Out” press event,Project Rygaris set to hit the stage as a Wii exclusive. Sadly, not much was released at this time, other than some character and concept art. FromIGN: Based on the classic NES/Arcade game (which also made a glorious stop on PS2), this game starts the franchise anew with new characters and settings. Kikuchi wants to make a game that people can easily get into through the Wiimote, and the Wiimote will be your main control device for Rygar’s Diskarmor....
The most recent PS3 firmware update that Sony released,v3.40, was a major one — it added PlayStation Plus support, Facebook features, and a video editor, among other things. The next one is much less significant, and accordingly, it’s numbered v3.41. The update will bring (drum roll, please)… game and video recommendations to the PlayStation Store! That’s right: Sony’s making you update your PS3 just so they cansell you more stuff. (This smacks of the “What’s New” section that they added to the XMB in thev3....
Wired’sGame|Lifehas managed to snap a candid shot of Activision’s upcomingGuitar Hero III“letting it all hang out” on the PS3. It turns out that the PS3 version ofGuitar Hero III’swireless guitars require a USB dongle for proper wireless communication with the console. We all know that dongles are usually ugly, but at least these are somewhat clever, as they’re styled to look like fat guitar picks. They feature a sync button and the GH3 logo....
Siliconerais reporting that Sony will be releasing a Halloween skin for their PlayStation Network title,Piyotama. Not yet confirmed or announced for North America, the skin changes the little chicken-like piyos into mummies, devils, and witches. No word on why zombies are absent, but I find it suspicious. Piyotama is certainly one of those PSN games that is often overlooked, but deserve a bit of recognition. At only $3, it’s a cute and fun puzzle game, if not the deepest experience....
According the guys atSiliconera, the PSP Chotto Shot/Go!Cam is not going to hit stateside. The reason was gleaned from a PR person when he said that cell phone cameras are too powerful to even bother releasing the device. The Chotto Shot camera only has 1.3 MegaPixels, while most mobile cameras have around 2. I wouldn’t say that this is a complete loss, considering thatwe’re still getting the GPS device. It just sucks that you can’t show your buddy where you are, then take a picture for reference....
