Jonesing for a bit ofKid Icarus Wiiinformation? Well, you can’t have it.Because it doesn’t exist.

Instead, in an interesting bit of post-E3 confluence, here’s a trailer for an upcoming WiiWare title calledIcarian: Kindred Spirits. It’s being developed by Over the Top, an indie studio based in Madrid, who worked onClive Barker’s Jericho. Like Frontier’sLostWindsor Meckensleep’s excellentSoul Bubblesbefore it,Icarianis driven by a use-the-Wiimote-to-create-wind mechanic.

The story is about a young warrior angel-girl named Nyx (not to be confused withNight) who is trying to find the body of the legendarily stupid Icarus. Her adventure is, of course, fraught with danger and she’ll have to use the “powers of the gods” to change the scenery and control the wind in order to avoid quicksand, ferocious hydras, and pederasty. The best news?Icarianfeatures local co-op.

I still don’t know too much aboutIcarian, but the trailer (below the jump) and the screenshots (in the gallery) look great, and that’s enough to keep me interested for now. I particularly like how far away the camera is and the sense of scale that it creates. Spain isn’t exactly a hotbed of European videogame development, so, at least from a conceptual point of view, I’ll keep an eye out.
