The latest game in the oft-exploitedTony Hawkskateboarding franchise will not be hitting the iPhone. The information stems from the man himself, Tony Hawk, in an interview withCNet. He put mobile wishes to bed with his reply of “Not iPhone” when asked directly if the new game would be coming to Apple’s lovely device.

The follow-up question to Hawk’s (senseless) denial of an iPhone release pertained to the possibility of the game hitting either the PlayStation 3 or Wii. His reply was nothing but business:

The next game we’re doing is for consoles, which will be next year. I get in trouble when I say too much about it, but you’re on the right track.

Of course, Mr. Hawk may just be thinking the immediate future, not necessarily the long-term strategy for the new dizzle. It is widely speculated that the game will feature a skateboard peripheral, which is something that the iPhone certainly can’t hook up to. But as we’re more than aware, some titles end up on handhelds months or even years after the fact. Apple enthusiasts will just have to wait to see and hope that their accelerometers can do the job that a balance board can.
