“This is the perfect setup for a quintessential first-person shooter game play experience,” he writes. “You pick your targets, aim your shots, time your reloads, dodge the bad guys, and try and make it through to the end of the level with a better score than last time.”

The goal, he says, is to create a game with levels that can be played many times; it won’t be about story progression, character development, or “any kind of surprises.”

“RAGEiOS is all action, all the time,” he states.

No release date has been announced outside of “2011,”id hopes to have the game out by late November, and Carmack does note they’re aiming for a 99 cent SD/$1.99 HD price point. More details on the game and some in-depth tech-nerdery can be found in Carmack’s posting on theBethesda blog.
