This weekend I come to you on my knees begging for forgiveness. Why do I do this? Because I have never played aMonkey Islandgame. Not even part of one. Not even one mouse click to make a character walk across the screen. I’m sorry. Strike me down now, wallowing in my own self pity. My only defense is that I have played every other LucasArts point-and-click masterpiece, but that is no defense at all. I can’t even fully appreciate thestatue of LeChuck and Threepwood throwing down that you see above, and it so deserves to be fully appreciated.
This may be a blessing in disguise for you, however. Since I have never played the games it means that I do not want to spend $89.99 for this fine piece of art. That means there is one less person vying for the 1,000 copies of the statue that were made. Head over toStarWarsShop.comand you can pre-order the 10″ tall statue while supplies last. It will then show up at your door (one assumes) after its release on Sept. 10. As for me, fear not. I am taking Brad “the muscles from Brussels” Nicholson’sadviceand downloadingThe Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition.
