ThepreviousMonday Mind Teaser gameFault Linewas a big hit with readers, and I think this week’s game will be too! For those of you like me, who refuse to upgrade to an iPhone or similar device, you can play nearly 100% of this game online for free. For everyone else in the world who goes through iPhones like yearbooks, this game will manage to delight and torture you for even more hours than the rest of us.

If you were afanofFull Metal Alchemist,orAvatar: The Last Airbenderbefore M. Night butchered it into ether, then I can almost guarantee you’ll love this game. Basically, the game is a lot likeScribblenautswithout levels, and a focus on magic instead of vocabulary.

The game starts off with the four main elements at your disposal. Each is then split into a few sub-categories, such as Earth being broken down into stone, sand, metal, glass, clay, etc, etc, etc. You don’t start with many sub-elements, but the point of the game is combining any two sub-elements to create a brand new one. For every new one at your disposal, it can easily bring a dozen new combinations into play.

Before long you start to create not just sub-elements, but even brand new element categories, which is where the game takes a turn from serious alchemy and becomes more of a humorous evolution puzzle game. You’ll be given a “mythology” group, and tasked with figuring out which elements can be combined to create zombies, werewolves, and other beasts. Then you’ll combine wood and other materials to create houses and boats. One of my favorites was combining lizards and air to create birds. The game can be completed in any order, so just have fun!

It will probably take you at least two hours to hunt down every last one of the 115 (more if you buy the iPhone version) element formulas, so don’t be afraid to put this one down and take a few breaks. There’s also a hint button that can come in handy as well. You can playDoodle Godhere on Avaloidfor free.
