This week’s Xbox Live Arcade release is the Atari classic,Missile Command. It’s set to hit XBLA on Independence Day and can be yours for 400 Microsoft Points. I guess if you squint your eyes and have a little booze in you, the explosions inMissile Commanddo sort of resemble fireworks exploding.

Fun little factoid courtesy ofWikipedia: “while programmingMissile Command, its writer suffered from nightmares.” What a traumatic experience that must’ve been for the poor guy. Maybe the game really was cursed like the old legends used to say.

Like previous old school games to hit Live Arcade,Missile Commandwill feature the regular visual style as well as the option to play with a new high-def look. It will even support resolutions up to 1080p, anti-aliasing, and digital surround sound.
