Based onreader reports, as well as my own voicemail, it appears as thoughLittleBigPlanetwill be landing on GameStop’s shelves this Saturday. Recently,Media Molecule statedthat the title could be hitting stores as early as October 27. We’re not ready to confirm that other retailers are getting the game tomorrow as well, but chances are they will.
By now the majority of you already know what happened withLBP. As a quick recap, Sony recalledLBPfrom stores after being notified thatoffensive lyrics were present in a songin the game. After a bit of scurrying, Media Molecule edited out the song and announced a tentative release date for North America and a tentative November 3 release date for Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
In addition to recalling and fixing the song on the disc, Media Moleculereleased two patchesfor the game in Europe. The first of which added new costumes and enhanced some of the network aspects of the game. The second patch edited out the lyrics to the offensive song, but left the instrumental portion in the game.
