Developer Anna Anthropy is no fan of yours truly, but a good game is a good game and Anthropy’sLesbian Spider Queens of Marsis pretty fun stuff.
As with most indie games,Lesbian Spider Queensexploits our love of the retro with decidedly old school arcade visuals and sounds. It wouldn’t look out of place these days on a “100-in-one” TV plug in console. Except, of course, that this game is about a spider queen kidnapping naked slaves. They don’t tend to put those on kids’ toys.
Your only real control is in the movement, as you guide the Spider Queen and her targeting laser around a slave-filled maze. Your job is to outmaneuver the enemy, catch them in your web, tie them up and collect their rebellious asses. It starts off simple but the difficulty soon ramps up.
There’s a solid dose of irony in the whole concept for those that want it, but everyone should at least be able to enjoy the gameplay, so feel free to check it out.
