The next chapter in Valve’sLeft 4 Deadsaga, “The Sacrifice,” will be available on October 5, we’ve been told today. It’ll be completely free for PC owners via Steam, but Xbox 360 gamers will have to pony up 560 MS Points.
“The Sacrifice” is available for bothLeft 4 Dead 1andLeft 4 Dead 2as two separate downloads. TheLeft 4 Dead 1content will get you the complete “Sacrifice” campaign maps, playable in cooperative, versus, or survival. TheLeft 4 Dead 2content gets you “The Sacrifice” campaign with the original Left 4 Dead survivors. Additionally, those getting The Sacrifice forL4D2will also receive anL4D2version of the originalLeft 4 Dead‘s “No Mercy” campaign, updated with all of the new features ofLeft 4 Dead 2like the new weapons and special infecteds.
We checked with Valve and yes, these are two separate downloads forLeft 4 Dead 1andLeft 4 Dead 2. For Xbox 360, this means if you want to play “The Sacrifice” with yourLeft 4 Dead 1andLeft 4 Dead 2discs, you’ll have to purchase it twice. Why you’d want to do that is unclear, but don’t let us stop you.
