New details have emerged regarding the release ofProfessor Layton and the Last Specteron Nintendo DS. The fourth installment in the puzzle-solving mystery series begins a new trilogy which acts as a prequel to the detective’s prior adventures and explains how Layton and his assistant Luke came to be together.
The game will have been out in Japan for nearly two years by its October 17 release in the US, so this isn’t exactly a new game. Nintendo has made a little tweak to the North American version of the game, however, which will shorten the wait to play one of the title’s more intriguing aspects. The bonus game,Professor Layton’s London Life, will be available from the very start instead of being unlocked upon completion of the main story.
London Lifeis an RPG developed by Brownie Brown, one of the three teams behindMother 3, and has the player performing quests for variousLaytoncharacters in London. The game is said to have a running time of about 100 hours, so it’s a huge bit of content that sounds pretty cool. I’d probably be pretty eager to try out something different after a few frustrating puzzles from the main game and I think it’s neat that this will be unlocked from the start.
