Huge fundamental update: Electronic Arts neglected to mention a tiny detail in regards to the October-boundLeft 4 Dead 2demo: it will be, initially, a pre-order“early-access”thing.
As originally reported byShacknews, those who pre-orderL4D2for either the PC (via Steam) or the Xbox 360 will get access to a demo for the game. A Valve representative told us earlier this afternoon — September 24th — that this pre-order deal is an “early-access” thing, not unlike what the studio offered with the originalLeft 4 Dead. Thus, theL4D2demo will be made available for everyone to try out at some point — the details ofwhenare to come later.
At a recent pre-TGS event in Roppongi, the publisher said a demo for the follow-up title was coming on October 27th. The announcement was a bit of a tease for the media who will be mowing down zombie-clowns and walking around an infested carnival in the “Dark Carnival” campaign portion of L4D2 at TGS.
Left 4 Dead 2hits November 17th.

According toShacknews, only those who pre-ordered the game for either the PC or Xbox 360 will get, at least, instant access to the demo. Valve didn’t clarify if the demo would later become a traditional download that didn’t require some sort of financial investment. You know, like a proper demo or something.
