Considering Koei is a throbbing hub of expansions, add-ons and updates (all of which I end up buying), and Xbox Live is a perfect medium through which to milk customers dry, the marriage between both of these money magnets should be considered quite perfect. Koei has not let such potential go untapped, and is going tooffer its latest expansionforSamurai Warriors 2as a fully downloadable title on Xbox Live.

Costing 2400 points,Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legendswill follow in the footsteps ofOblivion‘sShivering Islesexpansion pack, though if otherLegendstitles are any indication, you shouldn’t need the original disc to run it.SW2: Xtreme Legendswas originally only available on the PS2 and includes a gang of new characters and unlockable 5th weapons for every playable general. The expansion will hit Xbox Live on March 19th.

This is being discussed as a trial for Koei, so maybe we’ll be seeing more kinds of downloadable content from the company soon. Maybe even some Xbox Live Arcade titles. If we’re going that route, give me theDWGBA game and a newDynasty Tactics, please. Oh, and let’s getthatDynasty Warriorspornon the marketplace.
