All kinds of hardware news has sprung from Sony Japan for its PlayStation Portable this week.

First off, Japan will finally get its first taste of Skype for the PSP. And probably not care. We’ve had it for a bit, but it seems there was some hardware trouble there. They’re now ready for the launch, and the microphones and software will launch in Japan next month.

The new PSP model looks like the White model stayed in a tanning bed too long. On April 24th, theMatte Bronze Value Packwill go on sale in Japan. It contains the PSP, a pouch/cover, a hand strap, cleaning cloth, and 32MB Memory Stick Duo. It’s nice to see that they’re also packing in an A/V cable. If bronze is your thing, you may import this PSP for 23,800 yen. I think that the old Champagne model rocks the face off of this one.

Finally, a PSP cradle is in the works for Japan. This enables the easy docking and viewing of videos and 1-seg broadcasts, and the included remote control saves some legwork for lazy bastards. Nab it with A/V cables for 6,500 yen ($62) or without for 4,800 yen ($46).
