I think a U.S. poll would show even less. Hell, judging from your comments, a Destructoid poll would likely show next to no interest.

Japanese gamers don’t seem like they’re feeling a 3D-enabled portable, glasses or no. Well, at least the ones from this poll weren’t feeling it.  About one-thousand were polled on Nintendo DS ownership. About 42 percent of these folks were down with the DS, which seems low to me. About 700 from the sample set were asked about their interest in Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS. Here’s how it went down:

Interested, but not now: 55.8 percent

To be fair, not many outside of gaming know about the 3DS, and even those that do have not seen a solid example of 3DS software.

Let’s get real, though. Japan is all up in that DS business. They keep buying them whenever Nintendo makes ’em. Something tells me that they’ll buy this new 3D one too.
