If you’ve been busy hating onFront Mission Evolvedfor not being a turn-based strategy game, and have the good fortune to be living in Europe (or have a PAL PlayStation Network account), then you’re in luck, becauseSquare Enix is rereleasingFront Mission 3to the European PlayStation store, the better to wax nostalgic about those halcyon days of action points and tiles and pressing “End” on the menu a bunch.

Said Larry Sparks of Square Enix Europe:

With the forthcoming release ofFront Mission Evolved, theFront Missionseries is back with a bang. Before the evolution of the series, we think it’s the perfect time to revisit a previous classic installment withFront Mission 3. We’re very pleased to be able to bring this compelling title to the PlayStation Network.

Be pleased, then, because the game that started it all (for most westerners) is now available to all (Europeans). Then again, some might not be so pleased, as a few long-timeFront Mission-aries (heh) blameFront Mission 3forFront Mission 4‘s lukewarm critical reception and poor sales, which in turn killed off aFront Mission 5overseas release. But that’s a whole other chain of hatred. For now, just pick this up and combo Knuckles with a Shotgun.Do it.
