Activision has released the above video showing a 3D render of the new guitar controller to accompany the release ofGuitar Hero: Warriors of Rocklater this year. As you can see, it’s a lot like their last few controllers except… wait… it’s not just a guitar! It’s a Transformer!
Having redesigned the internal components so that everything fits into the neck, you’ll be able to swap out side panels making up the body. It doesn’t seem like a huge deal, especially since I’ve seen very few people using even custom faceplates for their plastic guitars.
But then I think about the modding potential. Simple connection, lots of area to work with and all the essential bits that make the thing functional safely tucked away? I’m dying to see what people come up with in the months following release.
