What the hell isVidrhythm? A trademark for the name was recently filed in the United States by Harmonix, saysSiliconera. The name certainly sounds Harmonix-y. I imagine a game where you physically move to the beat in front of some motion sensor.Dancing. It’s something that would feature music and video and neon and lasers and the like. I know — that’s a real stretch there. But I’m sure we’re all picturing the same thing in our heads. And I’m sure whatever it is will sell millions.
Let me point you to our interview from earlier this year withHarmonix boss Alex Rigopulos. Check out this quote:
But I have to say, we’re incredibly creatively motivated by motion gaming. Of course, dance games are a special intersection of music games with motion gaming. Harmonix has developed a competency and quite a passion and interest, generally speaking, in the area of motion gaming. So I think one of the things that you may see coming out of Harmonix in the future is more activity in the area of motion games.
Something calledVidrhythmis even easier to imagine after reading this. I’m sure this is something we’ll learn more about very soon.
