I have been doped up on pain meds all day so I am in no fit state to go looking for a video that nobody ever asked to watch. to get this done so I can go and pass out, I have decided this week to instead just post a picture of a sea anemone. There it is. Isn’t it wonderful? Great.

Speaking of sea creatures, videogames were played this week. You can hit the jump and find out which ones if you care. Oh, and do please tell us which games you’ve been playing as well

Bennett:PlayedNier, Ninety Nine Nights II, Persona 3 PSP, Tales of Graces, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, PixelJunk Shooter, and stared a lot atFinal Fantasy XIII(but didn’t get to play it, pout). Also played quite a bit ofBowser’s Inside Story, which is awesomely good.

Aziz:I beatBowser’s Inside Storythe other day. God damn is it long, and good.

Battlefield 6 aiming RPG at a helicopter

Sterling:Still playingFinal Fantasy VIIon my PSP whenever I’m bored. I’ve also gotten back intoCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfarefor some random reason, possibly sharpening my skills beforeModern Warfare 2hits. Surprisingly not as rusty as I thought I’d be, still hanging in there and kicking ass.Modern Warfareis the game that really got me into online gaming, so I’m looking forward to the second, even if Evil Activision is behind the steering wheel.

I also found a Dreamcast in my closet that I never knew we had, which was pretty rad. Not been able to play on it yet but am looking forward to doing so.

Ross:I finishedArkham Asylumat the beginning of the week, and have mostly just been playingBowser’s Inside Storysince then.Arkham Asylumis my current game of the year — it’s just so goddamn well done.

Sarkar:I’ve been slogging throughHalf-Life 2, and I’ve still got three chapters to go. I didn’t realize how long the game was when I picked it up in Ravenholm last week — I’m not saying that that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but it’s definitely a true thing. I’m still really enjoying it, but it does drag in places.

On Wednesday, I finally gotThe Beatles: Rock Band, and I stayed in on Friday night to play through the story mode in its entirety (it took between 3 and 4 hours). As I said on Twitter, it’s the most fulfilling videogame experience I’ve had all year. I couldn’t have been happier with the final product; it really blew me away. And what’s really awesome is that I’ve gained a new appreciation for some lesser-known Beatles songs, like “I Me Mine,” after singing/playing them.

Burch:The episodes are paced much better.

Also, just finishedLair of the Leviathan, the thirdTales of Monkey Islandepisode, and it’s unquestionably the best in terms of both comedy and puzzles. But I really like Morgan LeFlay, so what do I know?

Zimmerman:I, too, played through the story mode ofThe Beatles: Rock Band. While I am less likely to gush about it, not being a big fan of The Beatles, I did find it to be quite impressive and I have certainly gained a new appreciation for their music having played the game.

I’ve also playedKatamari ForeverandThe Warriors: Street Brawlfor review. One of them is good. Another one is not-so-good. I’ll leave you to guess which is which.

Razak:I played someMario Kartwith the lady a few nights after discovering I had some how deleted the file from my Wii. Have to open all the tracks back up, but there are far worse fates in the world. Other than this there was a littleBatmanaction and a bit ofRE5. I also hit upScribblenautshere and there, but no massive gaming events for me.

Holmes:PlayingKatamari Foreveras we speak. Very mixed feelings about the game, but it seems to get better the farther you get into it.

Earlier in the week I playedDead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, in honor of Frank West’s upcoming appearance inTatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars. Also re-playedMadWorldfor some reason. Both games are still a lot of fun to come back to now and again.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 Multiplayer Ransack Mode

Finally, played theLost Planet 2demo. It’s not my thing, but I could see what other people may like about it.

Oh crap, almost forgot. I played a crap load ofYou, Me and the Cubesin the beginning of the week. The game gets way hard in the last few levels. If you like “progressive puzzle games” like the Art Style series, buy it right now. You’ll get your ten bucks worth. It’ll take you ages to beat all the games levels.
