This is the most terrifying dream I think you may ever have. And I actuallylikethe B-52s.

As with every week, the staff at Destructoid has played a few videogames. We like to put together this little thing where we talk about the games we played in the previous week and solicit responses from the community. So, without further ado, here’s what we’ve been up to.

Bennett, H.:Well it has pretty much only beenDance Centralaround these parts. I’ve been dragging my ass in and out of work so much this week that I have hardly had time to play anything. Also,Houseis still sucking up any other free time I have.

Sterling:Two Worlds IIhas taken over my life. The review is still coming, but it went from “This is barely better than the original” to “Actually, this is okay” to, “Fuck it, I actually kind of love this thing.” It takes work to get to the “love” stage, but once you’re there, it is its own reward. Already one of the biggest surprises of the year.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2025 armor

Also played plenty ofKillzone 3. Beat it on the hard difficulty, but I am wavering on whether Elite is worth my time, asKillzone‘s Elite modes just aren’t fun. Also, the online … it is … HNNNNNNG!

Finally, I have been playingDead Spaceon the iPhone. Like many iOS games, the controls need some getting used to, but once they’re nailed, it’s a superb, ambitious little title. I recommend it for all series fans, and a review of that will be coming soon.

Hell is Us gameplay reveal

Bennett, C.:Just started9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doorsfor DS and I am loving it. Also I got to play thedemo ofCatherinethis week (YAY) and it really did live up to my expectations. The animation looks top notch, and while many were concerned about the gameplay not being fun, I liked it — it’s got a puzzler feel with stress added in. The trailer at the end of the demo really shows this is a Persona Team game through and through, and I cannot wait to play it in English. Come on and localize, Atlus USA!

Holmes:Been really busy making animations for the next Constructoid (frame by frame animation 4 EVA), so when it comes gaming, I’ve only had time for work related stuff likeOkamiden, which I’m playing for review.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 Multiplayer Ransack Mode

It’s start off really slow. The first hour only has two fights, and they are strictly strategy free, button mashing affairs. After you get to the first dungeon though, it gets pretty awesome.

Chester:Rocked a lot ofMarvel vs. Capcom 3this weekend,Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, and trying to beat my wife’s scores inFruit Ninja. Working on finishing up the excellentDead Space 2, as well — I’ve been on Chapter 11 for like two weeks because I’ve been so busy. But I’m getting close!

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: a black and white Jin and Heihachi stand back-to-back.

Also noted that Chad’s sent me a few messages on Xbox Live reporting that he beat a few of myPinball FX 2scores, so I guess I’ll be playing that tonight!

Devore:After weeks of trying, Maurice and I finally beat Dawn of War II’s Last Stand mode. My proudest gaming moment in years, possibly ever. Also finished up Dead Space 2 this week — loved essentially everything about it, especially the ending — and jumped right into new game+. SO GOOD.

PEAK Bing Bong plushie

Long:Played someDead Space 1and2. Tried out theBulletstormdemo. Max and I went head to head atRaskullsat which point I realized I’m terrible atRaskulls. (Adorable game, though!) Also played someNail’d, NFS Hot Pursuit, Burnout: Paradise City, and tried to playGears of Warbut had to shut it off after 5 minutes because I was so bored. Not for me.

Toletino:I tried putting on someDead Spacein the hopes of finishing it because some people told me interesting things were unlocked for players with a clear save of that when they playedDead Space 2. Now, the firstDead Spacewas never very scary to begin with, and after playingAmnesia: The Dark Descent, it’s about as frightening to me as this. For what it’s worth,Dead Space‘s shooting is a lot better thanAmnesia‘s, which has no shooting whatsoever.

Silent Hill f: a woman’s face covered in blossoming but deadly looking flowers.

I’ve also been toying around with a pre-beta preview build ofTotal War: Shogun 2. I’m not in a position to say if the AI’s been radically improved yet, but a lot of the other parts of the game are. Plus, it’s quite pretty.

Concelmo:For reasons I can’t really explain, I played throughSawfor the Xbox 360. With all these new great games out (LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, Ghost Trick, etc.), and me finally having time to play videogames after an inexplicable three week hiatus, I decide to dive back in to an old, completely mediocre survival horror game. It makes no sense. Seriously, I have no idea what I was thinking.

Mei NERF gun in OW2

But I finished it (even weirder!), so I think I am back on track.Dead Space 2andGhost Trickhere I come!

Also beat a bunch of my friends’ scores inPinball FX 2. Good luck on some of those tables, Nick. Good luck …

Battlefield 6 vehicles combat

Zimmerman:I actually rather enjoyedSawon the 360. As licensed games go, it was evident that there was some love for the franchise and it actually convinced me to give the films a chance.

Dead Space 2has been occupying my free gaming time and I’m enjoying it. I’m not loving it, but there are some really great new additions to that game. I especially like the Necromophs that try to sneak up on you using cover. IfJurassic Parkwere made into an action game today, that’s what I expect an encounter with velociraptors to be like: Awesome. I think I’m just a little bit burned by one of the areas of the game.

Battlefield 6 aiming RPG at a helicopter

I also finishedKiller 7on Backlog, which was just as weird as you would imagine it to be.
