Evil publisher Activision won no friends in the gaming community when it decided toraise the UK RRP ofModern Warfare 2to $54.99, and villainous CEO Bobby Kotick didn’t help when he joshed that he’draise prices even higherif he could. The downtrodden UK gamer scene has had enough, and has set upa futile petitionto try and make the nefarious company see sense.

There is absolutely no way in Hell that this petition will work. Online petititons rarely work against companies thataren’tforged from the very reasoning of sin, so a company as evil as Activision will simply laugh this off. However, since I think Activision has been way out of line lately, Whether or not the publisher will listen, It’s good that gamers have a chance to at leasttellActivision that its behavior of late is disrespectful and unfair.

Activision’s saturation of the market, price fixing, and legal outbursts run the risk of sending us into another videogame crash. I can’t help but think that, while the company is reaping in a vast amount of cash right now, its shenanigans will have some serious long-term affects that will screw it and everyone else over later down the line.
