Ahh, surveys. They’re fascinating glimpses into the ideas that a company is considering. Joystiq reports that Sony has been floating one around asking about potential additions to Zipper Interactive’s hugongous FPS,MAG.

What additions might those be? First off is a game mode referred to as “Interdiction,” in which 128 players on two teams fight for control of three neutral points on the map as opposed to one team attacking and the other defending. The survey also asks if participants would be willing to pay $8.99 or $12.99 for the new mode (which price you’re asked is dependent on answers to earlier questions).

The other new idea is offering players the opportunity to have a second character slot, allowing them to play in two different factions at once. Interestingly, it’s suggested that this feature could be offered on a subscription basis at a rate of $0.99 per month.

I don’t know what it costs Sony to maintain the records necessary for an individual account inMAG.Maybe they need that extra money to cover operating expenses or something. Nevertheless, I have a feeling this latter option might meet with a chilly reception should it ever come to light.
