The Multiplayer Online Battle Arena market just got a little more competitive with the full release ofRise of Immortalsfrom Petroglyph Games. WithLeague of LegendsandHeroes of Newerthalready established — and Valve’sDota 2expected to take a big chunk of the market — it will need some tricks to stand out from the crowd.

One of the big drawsRise of Immortalsis offering is persistent character progression. The level cap will affect what artifacts and talents are available to your character, all the way up to Level 50. The other big selling point is socialization hubs, which sound like MMO social areas where you can meet and greet your team and talk tactics with buddies. The game is launching with 12 characters but there’s the promise of plenty more, with three mystery characters teased on the official site.
