Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada today confirmed something that many fans have been waiting to hear —Final Fantasy IXis coming to the PlayStation Network! The game wasteased last weekby Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto, and today the CEO stated it was definitely happening in a short, six-second video.
Final Fantasy IXtells the story of a young thief named Zidane who becomes embroiled in a battle between good and evil after a bungled attempt to kidnap a princess. Its lighthearted humor, retro-flavored character designs and innocent charm helped set it apart from its contemporary, broodingFinal Fantasycounterparts.
Final Fantasy IXis easily my favoriteFFgame in the series, and I am thrilled it’s coming. So far, of course, it’s only confirmed for Japanese PSN, but Square Enix always brings itsFFgames to the West. I simply cannot wait.
