Unsurprisingly, Electronic Arts has announced that it has a game based onHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1in the works.
The title, like the books (and subsequent games), will be a shift in tone when compared to the earlier Harry Potter titles. The action-basedDeathly Hallowshas Harry, along with pals Hermione and Ron, outside of Hogwarts and on the run, facing off against Death Eaters and other unpleasantness.
One of the screenshots shows Potter hiding behind a girder, which suggests a pop-and-shoot cover mechanic. You know, likeGears of War, only with magics and wizards. Can’t wait to see the Weasley curb stomp.
The game is development for all of the usual suspects — PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. The game, like the upcoming film, will be broken up into two separate titles.Part Ishould ship this year alongside the film, withPart IIfollowing in 2011.
