Top Gun: Hard Lock, set in present day times, will follow a batch of elite naval avatiors who are fresh out of the Top Gun academy. The game will feature MiGs and an F-14 despite being set in a modern era, as well as a number of other licensed planes and weapons.
It also has something called the “Hard Lock” mode where you can perform special air combat maneuvers for flashy action. Looking at some of the screens, that might be QTE action with dual analog sticks. 505 Games’ multiplatform games can go anywhere between the “Haha, wow!” ofNaval Assaultto the “That was not that bad actually” ofIL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, so let’s see where this one will end up along that scale.
We’ll find out just how hard that bromantic lock will be in Spring 2012, whenTop Gun: Hard Lockis released on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
