How do you make an M-rated action side-scroller appealing to kids of all ages? You make a plush doll of the game’s lead!

That’s what Ska Studios did for its upcoming Xbox Live Arcade slaughterfest,The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. I got one in the mail yesterday and it’s absolutely adorable; I totally cuddled with it last night as I drifted off to sleep. This is quite the contradiction to the game, which features copious amounts of violence and blood, set against a gritty, almost disturbing art style.Vampire Smiledoes feature a“Pretty Princess” mode, however, so there’s that for the kids.

Ska also recently released a video diary which gives us a peek behind-the-scenes, which you’re able to see below. Watch it and you’ll learn that this plushie was apparently made by hand. By a human’s hands, people!

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smileis out next week, April 6; look out for our full review next Monday.
