I realize Destructoid’s focus is often on video games and the errata encircling the hobby, but did you know that Destructoid was also partly founded on our love for the bovine world? Video games are great, but cows give us so much! Leather, beef, um … more leather; there isn’t anything you’re able to’t get from a cow!
Of course, it was only a matter of time before those jealous chlorophyll fiends in the plant world decided they want some of our action, so it’s with great horror that I bring you the story of the “pili mara.” It seems the green revolt is already taking place in the wilds of India where this duplicitous creature is stealing our precious livestock, possibly with some kind of magic or photosynthesis.
I’m off to go lock my doors and hide my herd in a closet. I hope you’ve all been preparing for this inevitable day. Good luck and god speed.
Chilling.
Now here’s something about video games:
Hamsa “CTZ” Aziz:I playedHalo 3one last time before shipping it off to Microsoft to get fixed. Once it comes back,BioShockandThe Orange Boxwill be waiting for it. I also pulled a Ron Workman last week and only played one game the entire time I was at E For All. It wasSmash Brawlif you’re wondering. I also playedBeautiful Katamariat Colette’s last week too. I sucked.
Orcist:Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, FF Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate, Super Smash Brothers Brawl , Night Journey, Braid, andContra IVat E for All.Phantom Hourglass, Puzzle Quest(DS),Shadow of the Colossus, andKatamariat home.
Also, Combo Breaker at Chad’s was a great multi-player drunksperience.
Leigh Alexander:I’m ridiculously tired, so I’ll keep it brief:Half Life 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Portrait of RuinandDangerous High School GirlsIn Trouble.
Nex:Aside from having my ass handed to me by Dexter and Astro Bear inBombermanLivethis last Friday, I’ve been trying desperately to likeBeatiful Katamari. It certainly isn’t as good as the original, and its DLC is way overpriced, but for 2/3 the price of any other new Xbox 360 game, you’re getting exactly 2/3 the entertainment.
Nick Chester:That newCastlevaniaPSP game,Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction, and this weekend,Rock Band!
Faith:The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Brain Age, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Orange Box– mostlyPortalthough – andFinal Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
I’ve also been playing this new game … its called Cash Register. It’s really hard but I think I’m getting the hang of it. So much so that the Overlords of TRU may allow me to go to the next level where I get to sell videogames, movies and such. Cool, huh?
Colette Bennett:Folklore, Trauma Center DS( I felt the need to become horribly frustrated yet again with this game, so I’m replaying it to the part where I can’t get any further and hurl the DS across the room) and endless hours ofPuzzle Queston Live.
Tristero:I jacked my hand up in an embarrassing yet brutal accident, so my game playing’s been a little light this week. Orcist beat me in a round ofDr. Mario; that’s when I knew I had to take it easy. I mostly just cozied up to my wife and watched her playBeautiful Katamari.
Ron Workman:I thought I made it all the way through E for All without playing a game. I did for the most part, but I played some game that used the action vest thingy that makes you feel like you are being shot. Looking at the last 2 sentences makes me realize that I am not a journalist. Nex has fabulous hair.
Dale North:I played a lot more of my belovedJeanne D’arc, and I died about 15 more times this week (no exaggeration). I love a game that beats me down. I’m back toPersona 3again as well. I won’t list all the games I played at E for All Expo, but my highlights wereSilent Hill Origins, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops+, and the newFire Emblemfor Wii.
BlindsideDork:The Heavy Weapons Guy and I have become quite familiar with each other recentlly…maybe a bit TOO familiar? All hailThe Orange Box! Oh andPicross DSon the side.
Chad Concelmo:Am I a horrible person for using these giant fires as an excuse for everything? Late to work? Oh, it was the fires. Miss a deadline by a day or two? Man, those darn fires! Didn’t play any videogames this week except forBeyond Oasis? I’m sorry, I was helping rescue some kids from a burning orphanage.
Topher Cantler:I’ve been watching lots of zombie apocalypse movies lately, and decided to takeDead Risingfor another spin, doing the missions I didn’t do the first couple of playthroughs and finding stuff I had previously missed. It’s fun and all, but it’s not as cool as the real zombie apocalypse I’m always hoping will befall mankind. Is that too much to ask? Nothing ever goes my way.
Grim:I finally managed to beatGuitar Hero 2on expert difficulty, so I’m ready and waiting to get my ass kicked byLegends of Rocknext week. Even thoughExitdoes a terrific job at pissing me off, it is the first Live Arcade title that I’ve purchased in the last month or two, and I’m really enjoying it overall. Lastly, I played1944: The Loop Master(seriously, that’s the actual name) and it was epic to say the least.
Gameboi:Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, andBurnout 3: Takedownhave been vying for my attention this week. Other than that, I’ve fooled around with a couple games on the Wii’s virtual console:Donkey Kong, andSuper Mario Bros. 2. By this time next week, I should finally be getting around to playingThe Orange Box, andHeavenly Sword.I almost forgot about this next one. Walked into the local Hollywood Video searching for something to play on my PS3, and decided to giveLaira shot. Worst half hour of gaming that I can remember in quite some time. Took it back the next day. I’d give a lot to have that $8 rental fee back. Talk about a crappy game.
Jim Sterling:Dynasty Warriors 6andBladestormmostly. The rest of the week was spent covering The London Games Festival while trying not to die. I have been failing at playing games lately, and wish to rectify it with someConanas soon as I find a copy cheaper than 45 queenheads.
So, whatchoo been playin’?
