We’vechatted about theSilent Hill 2filmin the past, and last thing we heard, we only knew thatSilent Hilldirector Christophe Gans would probably not be coming back for round two (which is a shame, as I think he captured the feel of the SH universe pretty well). According toBloody Disgusting, it seems like there’s some possibility that Roger Avary may take on makingSilent Hill 2.
According to an interview onChuckPalahniuk.netwith author Bret Easton Ellis, Avary’s name came up in relation to a film adaption ofGlamorama, one of Ellis’ most popular novels. Ellis replied “He’s going to be shootingSilent Hill 2. As far asGlamorama, it’s just very hard to get the money to make it.” Bad news forGlamorama— and that would make a great film — but this sounds like a promising possibility.
For those of you unfamiliar with Avary, he worked on most of the key Quentin Tarentino films (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir DogsandTrue Romance) as well as penning the firstSilent Hillscript. Silent Hill 2 is a big story to take on, though. I wonder if Avary can do it justice?
