It seems that big time retailers like Best Buy may be elbowing out some of the competition after all. CompUSA was shutting down some of their less successful retail locations in an effort to cut costs, but it looks like they have now decided to go out of business entirely. The chain was sold by its previous owner, Carlos Slim, to Gordon Brothers Group, who were responsible for the decision to shut down the reamining 103 stores and sell all assets.

It’s rather sad to see a solid retailer go down, but there is some good news out of all this: The chain will remain open through and holidays and offer merchandise at discounted prices, so this could be a prime opportunity to pick up some gifts (not to mention a killer time to get a new PC, for yourself or someone that is stupidly lucky to be friends with you.)
