Tom Salta has been around the block a few times as far as game music is concerned. You know him fromTom Clancy’s HAWX, Gost Recon 1and2, Crackdown, Red Steel 1and2, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Project Gotham Racing 3,and a whole bunch of other games. He’s also worked on a bunch oftelevision and film. He’s basically what I would want to be if there wasn’t this whole writing about videogames job thing.
Tom is now on for composing Ubisoft’s upcoming Wii titlePrince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which is set to launch on May 18th. It sounds like he went all out to make an immersive score. This comes from the press release:
The score features performances recorded with globally revered percussionist Bashiri Johnson, dark hypnotic vocals by world music singer Azam Ali and ethereal vocals by international recording artist Judith Bérard, as well as world music and middle-eastern instrumentation such as doubek, kora, khangira, bowhammer cymbalom, lakota slide, walimba, ney, duduk and custom made instruments.
Damn, man. I suppose this is why he getsall the good gigs. At least we’ll know thatPoP: TFSwill sound good!
