There is a lot going on in the above dev diary for the upcomingCommand & Conquer 4. The short video takes you through most of the new changes in the game and talks about what they were trying to do this time around with the franchise. I find the class structure interesting and possibly a good way to gain replayability, but I’m not sold on it really being an actual change to the game.

What I am sold on is EA’s devotion to live action actors. It is now years past using live-action cutscences was in vogue and yet here we are gettingC&C 4with full live action cutscenes. If someone hasn’t already started a slow clap over this, it needs to happen now. I shall wait for the thundering applause. Sadly, this is the end of this storyline, and withRed Alertalso wrapping up it may well be the end of live-action cutscenes in games as we know it. We can hold out hope that the next game in the franchise stays so ridiculously true to its roots, but the sad truth is is that it is not likely.
