During theGears of War 2presentation at Comic-Con, Cliff Bleszinski unveiled an interesting and new twist for Achievements. Apparently,Gears of War 2will feature “linked Achievements,” which depending on what you accomplished in the originalGears of War, will unlock playable characters in the upcoming sequel.Kotakuwas present when Cliff announced the new system and jotted down a list of his examples.
In addition to the Achievements announcement, journalists were also told that Steve Jablonsky was at the helm for the soundtrack ofGears of War 2, and is nearly finished with his work. Jablonsky is the man responsible for theCommand & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrathsoundtrack, as well as films likeThe IslandandTransformers. While I don’t mind Jablonsky’s work, I’m more excited about the retroactive Achievement bonuses. It gives me a reason rekindle my chainsaw lust. Anyone up for some co-op?
