Back in February,Cave Storycreator Daisuke ‘Pixel’ Amaya, revealed that he was hard at work on a new game tentatively titledRockfish, for iOS. It features the same visual style of its predecessors and follows the adventures of the (tentatively) titular Rockfish. It has since come to our attention that Amaya is keeping adiary of sortsas development for the title progresses.

Pixel is taking care to listen to fans’ suggestions fromCave Story. For instance, he’s implemented the ability to create up to three save files, as opposed toStory‘s one file restriction. Good for those who wanted to play through the game more than once; in other words, everyone.

There’s also the inclusion of a shop. Screens show in-game currency, though without any knowledge of the gameplay itself it’s hard to say what the shop will entail. There’s been no mention of combat, onlyMario-esque swimming controls with spike traps and obstacles. However, we know that the shop is run by an adorably bespectacled frog.
