Very much likeDead Rising 2, we knew a sequel to Capcom’sLost Planetwas on the way, but it’s always nice to haveconfirmation. Capcom has provided such a thing this morning, with a new trailer that is available on Xbox.com (US accounts only, for some reason).
The main draw ofLost Planet 2is the promise of new environments. There has been a climate change which leads to the melting of some of the planet’s snowy regions, creating new jungle areas. There will also be a co-op mode, portable cover, mechs with passenger seats and turrets, possible squad-based gameplay and a story that focuses on several characters as opposed to just one.
Capcom is promising some vastly different gameplay, which sounds good to me since I was less than impressed with the first game. It looks as ifLost Planet 2will be a dramatic shift for the series, so you can color me interested. We’ll be back with the trailer as soon as we get our hands on a decent version.
