In case you’re irritated over the season three finale toBattlestar Galactica(not the finale itself, just the fact that it’ll be half a year before any new episodes get made), then be thankful thatsome hardcoreBSGfanshave created a standaloneFreespace2mod taking place in theBattlestaruniverse.

It’s calledBeyond the Red Line, and, though the mod is not technically done yet, they’ve posted ademofor us sci-fi nerds to enjoy.

I haven’t played it yet, but there are two things you should know: firstly, that if you didn’t know already,Battlestar Galacticais one of the best sci-fi shows still on television (next toDoctor Who); and secondly, that this demo is a standlone product that doesnotrequire you to ownFreespace 2.

Regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of the show, you’re not only getting a free game demo (with a working multiplayer option, no less), but you’re also showing your support for these independent developers who appear to have invested a lot of time and effort into a mod solely because they liked the source material so much.
