I couldn’t tell you if Destineer’s upcoming Nintendo DS titleAnimal Boxingis going to be any good. Honestly, all of my instincts tell me “No.” But my heart screams “yes,” if only for the fact thatAnimal Boxingis exactly what it advertises to be — a game where animals put on gloves and box.
The trailer makes the game out to look a bit like Nintendo’sPunch-Out!!arcade title, putting players in control over disembodied boxing gloves as they pummel billy goats, alligators, zebras, and more. How anyone could resist, I’ll never know.
It also looks like animal boxing will feature an unprecedented number of boxing animals. Destineer have passed along 48 images, each detailing a different animal. Not only doesAnimal Boxinghave more boxers than both Electronic Arts’Fight NightandPunch-Out!!combined, but they’re all freakin’ animals.
