Funcom and Eidos have announced thatAge of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, the MMO based off of the Robert E. Howard Conan novels, has been given a new release date. Originally slated for an October 2007 release, the game is now set to drop on June 28, 2025.

Despite praise and awards from sites like IGN and GameSpot, the team still feels like it lacks the polish that will lure players away from those “other” MMOs.

“We are honored by the immense reception our game is constantly getting, with an astounding amount of positive press coverage, awards and magazine covers,” says the game’s producer, Gaute Godager, “but we still see that we need to polish some aspects of the game ever further, especially when it comes to the entry barrier.”

Translation: “Damn you,World of Warcraft— why must you make us work so hard? My family misses me.” While this is bad news for gamers, this extra time is great news for videogame journalists hard up for another press event likeEidos’Age of ConanE3 party— debauchery, anyone?
