Looks like thelegal shenanigansbetween fish-faced Courtney Love and fish-hearted Activision are not over yet. The latest development in the battle for Kurt Cobain’s soul has seen Activisionyanking Youtube footagethat shows Kurt singing things he wouldn’t sing. A humorous compilation video of Cobain belting out Bon Jovi songs and bringing the noize has been removed, with Activision invoking its copyright claim.

Ordinarily, that would be no big deal — companies hate Youtube and frequently pull rank to get their stuff removed. However, Activision hasn’t touched any of the other 300,000 videos full ofGuitar Herofootage. Instead, they have focused purely on Cobain.

So, what does this mean? Could it be foreshadowing a change toGuitar Hero 5? Will Activision be patching out the ability to make Cobain sing anything other than his own material? I kind of hope Activision hasn’t completely buckled under Love’s pressure, not because I think the publisher is wonderful, but because I know a legal battle between two of history’s greatest monsters would definitely be worth seeing.
