3D Dot Game Heroesis one of the games I ammost looking forward to next year. Already out in Japan, the game is heavily laden withZeldareferences and has a fantastic art style that really makes it stand out. If I love it as much as I hope I will, then it will not leave my wallet alone, because it will support plenty of DLC.

A free update is hitting the Japanese version this Holiday season a loading screen, an optional hard drive installation, and the aforementioned DLC support. Don’t worry though — the DLC is looking to be incredibly reasonably priced.

The first DLC pack is scheduled to arrive Christmas Day, and will include ten stages for the game’sBlock Defense mode, as well as ten custom character models for players to edit. It will cost 250 Yen ($2.75). On January 8, ten more custom characters will be released for 100 Yen ($1.10). Not too bad, although the custom characters would have to be pretty amazing to be worth any cash.

Atlus has revealed no DLC plans for the game’s North American release, but you can be sure that some are in place. In any case, I’m mega hyped for this one, so stay tuned for more news on3D Dot Game Heroesover the coming months, including one or two surprises.
