In early November, Capcom expects their new digital storefront to launch on the PlayStation Network. This will be the first digital storefront on the PSN. After the success ofMega Man 9, Capcom is surely seeing the promise that digital distribution holds. DeathSpank releases on Steam this month, Mac eventually

With my limited exposure toDeathSpank, it always came off as the type of experience that seemed like a more natural fit for PC, regardless of whether you use a keyboard or gamepad. It will be appearing on the platform soon enough: October 26 is the big day. It’s going toget a Steam release, and currently, you can get 10% off the normal $14.99 going rate. Alternatively, you can bundle it with Klei Entertainment’s stylish beat-’em-upShankfor a total cost of $25....

Destructoid vs. P.B. Winterbottom in a pie eating contest

2K Marin invited Destructoid up to their offices in Novato where I went up against the producer ofP.B. Winterbottom, Paul Bellezza. Paul and I were neck-in-neck (mouth-to-mouth?) in pie, but Paul ultimately wins in the end … because he’s a dirty dirty dirtycheater! Notice all the pie bits left on Paul’s beard? HE TOTALLY DIDN’T EAT ALL THE PIE! I ATE OUT THE ENTIRE PIE FIRST, TECHNICALLY! I suppose it makes sense since you’re kind of “cheating” inThe Misadventures of P....

Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s boss fights were outsourced

Deus Ex: Human Revolutionwas released last month, but people are still banging on about the boss fights. The latest revelation in theBOSSAGEDDONsaga is that the fights weren’t developed by Eidos Montreal, having instead been outsourced to G.R.I.P. Interestingly, this is not anewannouncement. A developer diary quietly explained all this last month, but nobody took any notice. In the video, it’s stated quite clearly that G.R.I.P was handling the boss battles, with no explanation given as to why....

DiRT 3’s debut trailer is all about the weather

As promised, the first trailer forDiRT 3premiered on ESPN over the weekend. I missed it — and I’m sure many of you did as well — so here it is, in all its sorta-low-res YouTube glory. If this video is any indication, Codemasters will be pushing weather effects pretty hard in this installment. Great work was done in that department withDiRT 2, but guys, now there’ssnow. To quote the legendary filmBad Boys II, “sh*t just got real....

Double Dragon, 18 years later

So I think it’s safe to say that the newest trend in video gaming is to make video spoofs of what the characters are doing X amount of years later. First there was theStreet Fighter Combatants 10 years laterthat College Humor did an excellent job on a month ago. Now we have this Double Dragon: 18 years later fromDot Comedy. The video had it’s moments, but no where near as great as the Street Fighter one....

Dynasty Warriors 7: Chronicle Mode explained

As well as the main story campaign,Dynasty Warriors 7(the biggest cultural event sinceGobots) will feature a Chronicle Mode, a more free-form mode with a light roleplaying flavor to it. I wanted to know more, and so I asked lead producer Akihiro Suzuki about it. That’s how you find stuff out! “The way it works is that stages are made up of different areas which contain cities and battles,” he explained. “If you clear these more stages will open up and you will be able to access more nearby battles and cities....

E3 09: New Dead Rising 2 screenshots feature total carnage

DeadRising 2remains largely a mystery to us at this point. Other than the moose head, the new setting and protagonist, and of course, the much more expensive looking graphics, the game doesn’t look like it’s got to much going on to differentiate it from the original. These screenshots don’t do much to change that. Most of them look like they were taken directly from the trailer from a while back. Probably the best thing about them is they’re HUGE, so you’re able to really take a look at how nice the game’s new graphics really are....

E3 10: Conduit returns to action on the E3 floor

For those that playedThe Conduit, they found a decent shooter with some very interesting weapons and a multiplayer that hearkened back to the days of ol’ in a good way. Those who didn’t, and that was probably the majority, missed out on some fun, but I wouldn’t feel too bad. However, withConduit 2now coming out and High Voltage promising to improve everything about the first, it may be time to pick up the original....

E3: Hands-on with Torchlight II

I had the opportunity to sit down with Travis Baldree, President of Runic Games, for some hands-on quality time with their upcoming sequel to the wildly successfulTorchlight. Luckily, I was able to check out what is perhaps the greatest (and most requested) feature ofTorchlight II, the inclusion of multiplayer! While currently capped out at eight players, this number is subject to change as the game is still being tweaked to find the perfect balance between chaos and fun....

E3: Wii U’s Chase Mii is Pac-Man Vs. meets Mario

Pac-Man Vs. was one of the best games for the ill-fated, Gamecube-to-Gameboy connectivity fad from the last generation of gaming. That’s not really saying a lot, as the only other major releases to make use of the system wasLegend of Zelda: Four Swords AdventuresandFinal Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. When rumors were circulating around the Wii U’s built-in-screen controller,Pac-Man Vs.and the other Gamecube-to-Gameboy connectivity titles were some of the first games that people brought up as potential titles for the console....
