Bands and artists in the world of videogame music will converge in Baltimore later this month. August 14th kicks offBit Gen Gamer Fest. The whole game music band started off with five bands in 2005. Subsequent years have brought about more concerts, working all the way up to this year, which is supposed to be the biggest ever. This event, which brings game music and art together with fans, is going to host 12 musical acts....

2D action platformer,Capsized, is crash landing on Xbox Live Arcade this December. The game was initially released on Steam in April and developer, Alientrap, has been working with indiePub to bring the game to new platforms. XBLA users are in for a treat. You take control of a stranded astronaut on an exotic, rather dangerous, alien world. Using elements from first person shooters, traditional platformers and physics games, you’ll shoot, fly and grapple around this deadly alien landscape....

According to paparazzi photos sent via fax to our news headquarters just moments ago, it would appear that internet superstar Joseph Leray has been sighted in a local area Mississippi Game Stop, presumably with the intent to purchase a videogame. Sources close to Leray tell FOXTOID that this is not the first time the internet badboy has purchased interactive digital media. We’ve received word from several family members stating that Leray has been involved in gaming for nearly 20 years, and that his own parents may have purchased videogamesfor himas early 1992....

Insomniac Games is creating a new game; confirmed. On a podcast — hopefully a recent one — Insomniac community manager Bryan Intihar said that an unannounced game in the studio now has a playable build. “We’re not gonna tell you what they’re working on,” he said, referring to Insomniac, “but we can say we saw it and it’s really awesome.” Community relations manager James Stevenson followed-up Intihar saying, “Really good first playable....

I’m a big fan of all thingsBurnout, but it’s even hard for me to swallow the name of the next-gen iteration. Officially calledBurnout Paradise, a title that brings to mind palm trees and margaritas instead of auto carnage, the game will be released this winter on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
