One of the best new features inGuitar Hero IIwas the inclusion of a true cooperative mode. One person playing bass/rhythm guitar, the other person rocking out lead; it doesn’t get much better. It’s back inGuitar Hero III, of course, with one small (and puzzling) omission — cooperative mode is not available in the game’s quickplay mode. The next big PS3 firmware update — v3.10 — is today’s big firmware update. In a recent interview with1UP, SCEA’s Eric Lempel apparently revealed that the teased 3.10 update launches at some point today. He also mentioned that the nerds who create these updates have been working on this latest for a bit of time. “I’ll just say that it’s been in the works for quite some time,” Lempel said before adding, “It’s never been easy to integrate new content into the PlayStation Network....
Oh dear oh dear, Firmware 3.0 has not won any fans since it launched for the PlayStation 3 this week. After installing the new system update, some usershave complained of new bugsinUncharted: Drakes FortuneandWipEout HD. Now, to make matters worse, thereare also reportsof it causing controllers to malfunction. According tothe complaints, this new issue affects the “Ceramic White” DualShock 3 controller. Those suffering from problems claim that the controller’s LED ports are lit as if the controller is active, but the peripheral itself won’t actually work....
